I bought a house in Mexico can I bring my household goods ?
Yes you can, you first must obtain an FM2 or FM3 visa from the Mexican Consulate. Once you have it you have 6 months to cross your used household goods into Mexico.
Can I bring new items with my FM2 or FM3 visa ?
No, this format only allows you to bring your used household goods, however you can also bring new items as long as you pay duties and taxes.
Besides my visa what do I need to clear my used household goods?
You will need to provide a list with a description of your items. Must be typed in English and Spanish. Please contact our office to request a sample of the list.
What do I need if I want to ship only new items ?
You will need to provide us with copies of the invoices .
How are duties and taxes determined ?
Duties are determined based on the description, origin and value of your goods as well as their final destination in Mexico.
What is NAFTA ?
NAFTA is a free trade agreement between Mexico, Canada and the U.S.A. that allows goods to enter these countries duty free.
How can I benefit from NAFTA ?
As long as your items are made in Mexico, U.S.A. or Canada your duties will be much lower.
Can I purchase items and have them shipped to you ?
Absolutely !! make sure they are shipped with your name and our address. This will help us make sure we know who the items belong to. Please let our office know ahead of time so we can prepare accordingly.
How do I need to pack my items ?
All goods must be properly packed for shipping. If purchasing goods directly from the manufacturer make sure you mention that you are shipping them to a warehouse and that they must leave them in the original packing.
Can you pick up goods in my home ?
Not at this time but we can recommend a reliable third party company to do local pick up of goods. Please contact our office for more details.
Are my goods insured ?
